Beniya Mukayu (Yamashiro Onsen)
Beniya Mukayu is situated on the site of the former head temple within the Yakushiyama foothills. This family-owned and operated ryokan was created solely for guests’ rejuvenation and relaxation.
Designed by Kiyoshi Sey Takeyama, its architecture is distinctly Japanese—reimagined through a contemporary vision of Japanese essence and modern design elements in harmony with the surrounding nature.
A proud member of Relais & Châteaux, a stay at Mukayu is an invitation to step away from daily routines and restore yourself through natural hot springs, personalized service, and the Entei spa featuring its original Yakushiyama amenity line. A true jewel of Japan, it blends traditional Japanese omotenashi with a contemporary design aesthetic.
