Cherry Blossom Season at Kasamatsu Kawazu-zakura Road Parking Lot
Kawazu-zakura in Kawazu Town reaches full bloom in early February each year. Thanks to the area’s warm climate, these cherry blossoms bloom earlier than most. During the annual Kawazu-zakura Sakura Festival, held during the flowering season, the deep pink Kawazu-zakura—harbingers of early spring—paint the town in vivid color.
In Kasamatsu Town, 350 Kawazu cherry trees bloom in succession along a 1,500-meter agricultural waterway, planted by local residents. Kawazu-zakura are early-blooming cherry blossoms known for their large, pink flowers and a long flowering period of more than a month. At Kawazu Sakura Road, you can welcome spring as early as possible. The blossoms reflected in the water—along with a blue boat—make for beautiful photographs. With tranquil fields all around, time seems to pass slowly.
