Ryuzu Waterfall; Ryūzu no Taki, means "dragon head waterfall" in Japanese. The name comes from the shape of the falls, which resembles the head of a dragon. The waterfall is located on Yukawa River, shortly before the river discharges into Chuzenji lake.
Ryūzu can be translated as "Dragon's Head", and is so named because its twin falls are said to resemble a dragon's head.
During May to June, red-purple camellia will be full blooming and one of the first spots in Nikko to see autumn colors in about late September to October.
