A touring lounge for five

A Hi-Ace rebuilt as a touring lounge: up to five guests in reclining captain seats with a wall-mounted screen and full-height luggage space — the long-distance specialist of the fleet, with an English-speaking chauffeur.

Touring van

Toyota Luxury Hi-Ace

From outside it is a Hi-Ace — Japan's most trusted van body, high-roofed and unassuming. That is the point: the conversion happens entirely within, and the tall body is what buys the cabin its space and the luggage its height.

The interior

Inside the cabin

Interior view of the Toyota Luxury Hi-Ace lounge seating

Two rows of two reclining captain seats behind the front row, with a wall-mounted screen and lounge lighting — a cabin built for the hours between cities rather than the minutes between districts. Each seat reclines deep enough to rest properly.

Seat layout

Where everyone sits

Five passenger seats: one beside the chauffeur and two reclining rows of two in the lounge cabin. Fewer seats than the body could hold — the space is spent on recline and legroom instead.

What the compartment holds

The full-height compartment behind the last row takes about five large cases and five carry-ons, stacked tall — the Hi-Ace body's headroom works for luggage too. A party of five travels with everything aboard.

Good to know

Frequently asked questions

How is the Luxury Hi-Ace different from the Hiace Grand Cabin?+

Same trusted body, opposite priorities. The Grand Cabin seats ten with functional comfort; the Luxury Hi-Ace strips that to five reclining lounge seats and gives the space to the passengers. Choose by party size and how long the road is.

Is it suited to full-day trips out of the city?+

It is the fleet's long-road specialist — Hakone, Nikkō, Fuji days where the drive is measured in hours. Seats recline for the return leg, and the luggage bay swallows a day's purchases without touching the cabin.

How much luggage fits with five passengers?+

About five large cases plus five carry-ons in the full-height rear compartment — one large case per guest, stacked tall. More than that, tell us the count and we plan around it.
